I was going to call this post "Envy" but I realised I didn't need to be envious, and if I exerted myself I could actually achieve something similar! A few links today to homes/blogs which encourage simplicity and minimalism:
1. Victor & Soeun's Romantic Loft: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/small-cool-2007-entries/11-victor-soeuns-romantic-loft-021235
Fabulous use of a very small space (a 518 sq ft apartment in New York).
2. Churchlady's apartment: http://www.flickr.com/photos/churchlady32/sets/72157621814401207/show/with/3786749539/
Want!
3. Miss Minimalist's blog: http://www.missminimalist.com, especially this post: http://www.missminimalist.com/?p=40
Can you imagine how easy it would be to concentrate on meditation or even reading a book, in such uncluttered surroundings? I spend a lot of time wishing my flat were somewhat like these, and generally Not Actually Doing Anything. All thought, no action. I am inspired!

My meditation space now has a wicker basket/bin sitting in the middle of ot. I am not sure whether asking why this should be would be A Good Thing, or not...
I would love to say goodbye to clutter, to the extent that a little-used set of Chinese tea bowls and teapot of some sentimental value, bought in Toronto Chinatown in 1983, is going as a gift to a friend when he's finished building his teahouse in his back garden. But not all the clutter is mine...what to do?
It's a tough one. I (fortunately!) don't have to deal with anyone but the cat, and she doesn't get much say in the proceedings... I clutter up as I like! *sigh* Maybe just try to maintain one little corner for yourself? There's a great quote I'll stick up in another post.
Take a look at http://www1.ttcn.ne.jp/~gyo/English/campingcar.htm for uncluttered style in unexpected form.
Oh, that is so cute!! And everything so well thought out - I love the storage under the stairs! It reminds me of this guy :

except mobile.
http://www.tumbleweedhouses.com/ - I want one!
I particularly like your link to the loft from Apartment Therapy (a site I check daily). Although my apartment isn't nearly as posh, it's just as empty (if not more so). The quiet contemplation it allows is heavenly!
Also a big fan of Tumbleweed Houses. Though I'm stuck on which floor plan I like best.
Happy Blogging, Shojin! (Thanks for adding me to your blogroll.)
